Our Sources & Provenance

Our Sources & Provenance

We want you to know where your food comes from. Below is how we think about sourcing — and, just as importantly, what we know for certain and what we are still confirming.

The Provenance Framework

1. Product. We keep our range small and genuine: pure cow ghee, fermented greens and preserves, regional chillies, and a traditional sumac berry sour.

2. Place. Our foods begin in Sikkim and the Eastern Himalayas, the region where we work.

3. Source. We work with home-based producers, local farmers and small kitchens across the region. We share what we know about a product’s origin, and we are honest about the details that are still being confirmed.

4. Process. Our foods are made the traditional way — through fermentation, curing and slow cooking — wherever that is genuinely how they are made. We avoid overstating the exact process of any batch we have not verified.

5. Proof. We describe our products plainly and invite you to ask about any batch. We do not display unverified certifications, awards or lab reports.

6. Purchase. We pack in food-safe containers and arrange delivery across India. Please see our shipping & delivery policy for details.

Honesty over claims

We would rather tell you exactly what we know — and what we do not yet know — than present a polished claim we cannot back up. If you have a question about any product, ask us.
